Standard window films block UV up to 380nm, the minimum required by most standards. UV420 extends that protection to 420nm, covering the high-energy visible (HEV) blue light range that standard films miss entirely. This matters because HEV light (380–420nm) is linked to eye strain, disrupted sleep and accelerated fading of furniture and interiors. Our films block 100% of UV to 400nm and 70% of HEV blue light to 420nm, delivering protection that goes significantly beyond the industry baseline.

It depends on the film grade you choose. The G-65 passes 66% of visible light, most people can't tell it's there. The G-35 (our most popular) is similar to a light tint and reduces brightness noticeably but not uncomfortably. Darker grades like G-20 and G-05 are designed for privacy and extreme solar control, and will make the room dimmer. Most residential jobs take 2–4 hours. A standard 3-bedroom apartment is typically completed in a single morning. Commercial installs are scheduled outside business hours where possible to minimise disruption. The installation process involves cleaning the glass, applying the film with a solution, and squeegeeing out any air or liquid. There's no mess, no odour and no damage to the glass or frames. Windows should remain closed for 48–72 hours after installation to allow the adhesive to fully cure.

Our 12-year comprehensive warranty covers all manufacturing and installation defects including bubbling, peeling, cracking, oxidisation, colour fading, adhesive failure, shrinking and discolouration. It covers both materials and labour, if the film fails for any covered reason, we replace it at no cost. The warranty applies to residential and commercial installations and is non-transferable. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper cleaning (e.g. abrasive cleaners), or external physical damage to the glass.

Yes, our films are compatible with most modern glass types including double-glazed units, low-E glass, tempered and laminated glass. However, the film selection matters: darker films absorb more solar energy and can cause thermal stress in double-glazed units if the wrong grade is chosen. We assess your glass specification before recommending a film to ensure compatibility. For tempered glass, we typically recommend films with a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) above 0.25 to avoid stress fractures.

Film-coated glass is very easy to maintain. After the 72-hour curing period, clean it exactly as you would normal glass, a soft cloth or squeegee with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner is ideal. Avoid anything with ammonia (many standard glass cleaners contain it) as this can degrade the adhesive over time. Never use abrasive pads, razor blades or harsh solvents on the film surface. With correct care, the film will maintain its clarity and performance for the full warranty period and beyond.
